I was in desperate need of refrigerator repair after my power source broke and fried my appliances. Both of my refrigerators were affected, but thankfully, one was able to be saved. After searching on Google, TopTown immediately stood out to me. It was the first company I called because of the five-star reviews and the outstanding customer feedback. Masood answered right away, listened to my concerns over the phone, and came out the very same day to assess my refrigerators. I cannot say enough about the kindness and compassion he showed, especially knowing how much stress I was under after losing all of my groceries. He worked with me, was extremely affordable, prompt, professional, and genuinely caring. I highly recommend TopTown for any of your appliance repair needs. If you’re looking for someone you can trust, Masood is definitely the person to call! Thank you again, Masood! Regards, Angela
Oven Repair in West Sacramento
Top Town provides oven repair at your home in West Sacramento and Sacramento for gas and electric wall ovens and ranges that will not heat, bake unevenly or start. We tell you the cause and the repair price on site.

An oven that will not reach temperature, burns the edges of the cookies or refuses to start ruins dinner plans fast. We handle oven repair in people’s kitchens across West Sacramento and Sacramento, whether the oven is a wall unit or part of a range. This is where the faults tend to hide, and what an oven repair usually involves.
Symptoms and the parts behind them
Oven will not heat
In an electric oven, the bake element is the usual failure: you may see a blister, a break or a spot that never glows. After that come the temperature sensor, the relay on the control board and the wiring terminals, which can burn at the connection. In a gas oven, look at the igniter first. A weak igniter glows but does not draw enough current to open the gas valve, so you hear no click and get no flame. Then the safety valve and the flame sensor.
Heats unevenly or bakes off-temperature
A drifting temperature sensor is the common answer, followed by a worn door gasket, a failing convection fan motor and a control that needs calibrating. Many people book oven repair when the oven is only a little off, so before blaming the oven, put an oven thermometer in the centre rack and test over twenty minutes.
Self-clean problems
The self-clean cycle runs the cabinet very hot. It often exposes a weak door lock motor, a tired thermal fuse or a control board that was already marginal. If the door stays locked after a cycle, wait for it to cool fully before assuming a fault.
Display, clock and button issues
A blank display or buttons that do not respond usually point to the control board or the membrane touch panel. A scorched smell with a dead display needs the oven switched off at the breaker.
What you can safely check first
- Confirm the clock is set and the oven is not in a timed, delay-start or sabbath mode.
- Check the breaker. Electric ovens use a double-pole breaker, and half-tripped breakers are common.
- Look inside with the oven off and cool for a broken or blistered bake element.
- Test the temperature with a separate oven thermometer.
- Make sure the door closes flat against the frame and the gasket is not torn.
- For a gas oven, confirm the range itself has power, because many igniters and displays need electricity even in gas models.
Stop and call us for any smell of gas: leave the home, avoid switches and flames, and call the gas utility from outside. Stop too for sparks, melted wiring, or a breaker that trips again as soon as you reset it. Never jump or bypass a thermal fuse or limit switch.
Electric, gas, wall and convection ovens
Electric ovens depend on elements, sensors and relays, so oven repair there is mostly parts swaps. Gas ovens add the igniter, the safety valve and the flame sensor, and we repair the oven parts but not the gas supply line. In wall oven repair the unit, often a double stack built into cabinetry, may need careful removal; freestanding ranges are easier to access. True convection ovens with a third element and fan have additional parts to wear.
All major brands come through our service. High-end built-ins covered on our Thermador repair and Wolf repair pages usually use more advanced controls, while GE appliance repair covers widely sold ranges and wall ovens.
Oven repair at your home: what to expect
The technician arrives in a company-branded van wearing a uniform, offers shoe covers and brings a tool bag and schematics for the model. The technician tests the oven, finds the failed part, and tells you the cause and the repair price. The service call is $80. Because the van is stocked with the most common oven parts, we often finish oven repair on the same day, and same-day service is available. The parts are genuine. Our service areas page shows the full list of towns.
Is the oven worth repairing?
Elements, igniters, sensors and door switches are normally worth replacing. A failed main control board on an older, basic oven can cost a surprising share of a new unit. As a rough rule, if oven repair costs more than half the price of a similar new oven, replace it. The repair or replace calculator gives you a quick check, and the appliance diagnosis tool helps with the symptom.

The technician was able to get to our home earlier than anticipated which was appreciated. He explained what needed to be done and our options. Because of the age of our appliance we decided not to get it repaired. He also gave us valuable recommendations on a replacement. We definitely will call him for any future appliance repairs.
Oven Repair questions
How can I tell if my bake element is bad?+
With the oven off and cool, look for blisters, breaks or a section that does not glow red when the oven is on. A heating oven that stays cold is another sign. Replacement is a technician job because of the live connections.
Why is my oven temperature different from the dial?+
The sensor may be drifting, the gasket may leak heat, or the control may need calibration. Put a separate oven thermometer in the middle of the oven for twenty minutes to see how far off it really is.
Is it safe to use the self-clean cycle?+
Generally yes, but it exposes weak parts. Remove racks and loose debris, ventilate the kitchen and keep pets and birds away from the fumes. If the oven fails during self-clean, switch it off and call us.
My gas oven clicks but never lights. Why?+
The igniter may not be hot enough to open the safety valve, or the spark path is dirty. Never light it with a match if the gas smell is present. Call us and we will test the igniter.
Do you repair double wall ovens?+
Yes. Double and single wall ovens are part of our work. Wall units are heavy, so we plan the visit around removing the unit from the cabinet only when it is needed.
Does the $80 service call apply if the oven needs a part?+
The service call covers the visit and finding the cause. The repair price is quoted after the technician has looked at the oven. Ask us about payment when you book.
